Do any of y’all own or have experience with this Gretsch guitar? I played one at my local GC and was pleasantly surprised at how well this under US$500 guitar played and sounded. I’d appreciate hearing from any of you that are familiar with this center-block double cutaway electric guitar. Best regards, Charley Delta, The Woodlands, TX.

I don’t own one of these but all the reviews I have seen have been really good. I think that it competes very well within its’ price point. I had been looking at the EPI Pro 339 because it has a smaller body but this Gretsch sounds just great and has a really good build quality. Good luck and if you do buy one I look forward to seeing your post.

Thanks, Tim. It might be my imagination, but I’ve recently played both the Gretsch G 2622 (without the Bigsby tremolo) and the Epi ES-339 Pro, and the Gretsch seemed a bit lighter in weight. Since, according to the government, I am now officially an OLD MAN (and one with a bad back to boot), I’m looking for a light weight guitar with a heavyweight sound. Best regards, Charley Delta.

I tell you what, that is one beautiful looking and sounding guitar. I’m not sure I would plump for a Bigsby, its such a footery ( yes, it is a Scottish word)thing to string up….
