I was saddened yesterday to learn that Canadian female rock icon Sass Jordan died far too young at age 65. No cause was given but she had cancelled shows in the past three months due to medical issues, presumably cancer related. She was well known in Canada but had a brief spark of recognition with her albums “Racine” in 1992 and”Rats” 1994.
She had one of the most iconic female rock voices with some of my favourites like “Make You a Believer”, “Hard Road Easy” and “Pissin’ Down”.
Have a listen to a truly great rock vocalist.
John
I didn’t know her John, but watching a few YT clips she was certainly a gritty performer. It’s so sad losing such talent so early.
Richard
Never heard of her before. Very distinctive voice and nice rock progression that made me pick up the guitar and work out that initial hook. My ear is getting better and better at figuring this stuff out quickly.
Root note patterns >>> CAGED shapes >>> TRIAD'S. Just put in the work and watch your guitar skills soar.
I’ve never heard of her but when I listened it reminded me of Bonnie Raitt. So sad she passed so young. RIP.

The sight of a touch, or the scent of a sound,
Or the strength of an Oak with roots deep in the ground.
