I’ve been working hard on what I call “finger rolls” where you use the first or third finger to play a fretted note and then play the same fret on the next string while “rolling your finger” off the current string so as to not have both ring out.
Been doing this to a blues track while trying to improvise. Clearly, over-using the technique in order to practice it.

This method seems to be quite effective, because your improvisation sounds wonderful.

That’s some clean rollin’ wpb. Very solid playing and that’s a really nice backing track as well. The finger rolling that gives me trouble is always on the 6th and 5th strings. I have a tendency of rolling that sixth string right off the fret.
Root note patterns >>> CAGED shapes >>> TRIAD'S. Just put in the work and watch your guitar skills soar.

W.blues,
You have a great vibe going with your lead play using this technique! Slow blues creating a lot of tension..nice 👍🙂Don P

Well from the sounds of this I don’t see any problems! Well done.

You executed those finger rolls so cleanly, WPB. Sometimes I do like the double stop effect when they get a little sloppy, especially at a faster tempo.
I like how well supported your bends and vibrato are with thumb over the neck.

This is a great improvisation. And those hammer ons at 1.22 sounded brilliant. Nicely done

I’d say you’ve got the finger rolls down pat, Blues. Sounds great!

Nice work! That’s definitely a focus for me too, especially while bending.
