Good job, Pap. Hands and fingers seem to be moving mostly fluidly for both chords and melody. Also, very good alternate picking. Keep it up and you will only get better and better. This song seems to be a good practice routine for you. Great!!

Nice going Pap. I don’t know the song but I guess it’s British in origin. It sounded really good, like the songs we used to listen to in the folk clubs.

Hey Pap, you are definitely on the right track here. I didn’t quite get what you meant in the description, but I noticed the fluid movement and hand coordination during the melody playing. That was very accurate, too. Nice!

Nicely played, Pap. I reckon that falls solidly in the category of “flat picking”. It’s a style we all need to get familiar with if we want to become well-rounded guitarists.

I love all those Scottish jigs and reels. You played the melody really well. There’s a lot to be said for playing it at that speed rather than at lightning speed a la Doc Watson.

It makes so much sense to work on details like that, Pap. And I’m sure the way you’re approaching this will definitely lead to success. And you’re not missing out on the fun, either. At least, that’s how it sounds.

Interesting approach doing the rhythm and lead picking separately but can the benefits and the results individually. The flat picking would be the hardest skill of the two and you do that so well.

You certainly maintained a steady tempo throughout both pieces there, Pap – and the movement between strings, especially in the second piece, was complicated to say the least! Really well done – Mark 👍🎶😎

Hey Pap, you’re really working this out! I’m impressed with your alternate picking and the fluidity and speed you have. Clean, and really moves from string to string. Well done! There is so much to learn from classic tunes like this. I think we often pass them by, but it pays to give them the time they deserve.

This is great work, Pap! As much as I am not exactly an avid country/bluegrass music fan, I do very much appreciate the guitar techniques that it has – so hard to master and yet so effective and great sounding! Not to mention the techniques may spill over to other genres as I experienced with the ambient EP617 where Brian snuck in all those bluegrass-y licks 🙂 Your playing inspired me to grab a guitar and practice it a bit along with your rhythm playing 🙂
