The June 2026 challenge was to play something using only two chords for your entire piece. I’ve heard many submissions so far and a lot of people created their own backing track or just mixed chords with licks. I just can’t do that yet so I chose to play over a track by “Quist – Easy Blues Guitar Backing Track Vamp (C)” which uses C7 and F7.

I wanted to try using my Spark 40 amp more but had some trouble getting a decent input level in my DAW so I reached out to AM member Andrè M who gave me some helpful tips…thanks Andrè.

I also got a valuable tip from AM member JoLa about video resolution in Final Cut Pro. And I bought some lighting to help improve the video quality (thanks to the AM members that posted suggestions in my forum post about lighting).

        Gear used:
PRS CE 24
        Spark 40 Amp
        Logic Pro 12
        GoPro Hero 12
        Final Cut Pro 12

That lighting makes a huge difference. I might have to buy some equipment too. The guitar playing keeps getting better and better. I like those trills you did.

Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Hey Joe, that was really good! You had some seriously advanced licks in there that caught my attention. The help frm Andre and Jola shows: the video and tone are impeccable.

                  Video looks good.
                  Volume sounds ok to me.

Some great blues licks and a relaxed vibe. Well done. 👍

That sounded fantastic, I liked these Claptonish licks and tremolos. Great phrasing and leaving space. Great fat tone on your PRS.
The video resolution and light looked great. Your shirt now really shines out.
I think I also need to improve my video quality with better lights etc.

                      More Blues!

Absolutely brilliant submission – a kind of “Last call for Alcohol” performance in a dark and noisy blues bar. Should I now call you “Smokey Joe-D” 😂😂?

Really well done – Mark 👍🎶😎
