Greetings everyone!! This morning I began working on EP633, a fingerstyle blues piece in the key of E. I can’t wait to learn it. I love fingerstyle blues and was blessed to take a few lessons with Kenny Sultan, a masterful player of this style, back in 2008/2009. This is one of his compositions from his 2002 album “Guitar Blues”. I’ll post EP633 as soon as it’s good to go. Cheers and happy playing!!!

So well played Glen, that was a good rendition of Kenny’s original. I’m so impressed with the earthy & natural sound of your acoustic, fits the piece exactly.

Thank you so much, Richard! His recorded version is longer, but I thought this take was a good length. And yes, I really enjoy playing this guitar, especially in a fingerstyle blues context. Happy playing, good sir…

That was some solid thumb thumping bass lines and fingerpicking treats Glen!

Great tune and well played, Glen. I also loved EP 633. Especially the turnaround lick. Tricky timing but sounds so cool once you get it down. I used it in the last monthly challenge. I’ll look forward to hearing your take on it.

Very articulate Glen. You are sayin’ a lot with your fingers my friend. I really enjoy your playing. From start to finish. Your timing and restraint are master class. I love stand alone pieces that have a beginning, middle and ending. So well done and a great listen.

Happy Friday, John! You are very kind with your words. Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Yeah, there is something magical about standalone solo instrumentals that I’ve always found appealing. I love to sing, but have been leaning more into these types of complete instrumentals as I’m getting older. In Brian’s lesson options, it’s the “No Accompaniment (Just Guitar)” pieces that I find myself gravitating to. Keep on jammin’ and I hope you have an amazing weekend!!

That guitar is sounds so good I just want to reach through the screen and steel it from you. Really good dynamics and ability to squeeze out nice phrases with style.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.
