That last challenge to create a hook has really sparked some creativity in me, so I made another one in this improv session which amazingly was recorded on the very first take. Yes I practiced about six different audio only versions first, but usually I have do many recordings before I get a decent video session. I apologize for the length of this, it’s over 6 minutes long, I just got carried away.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

You realky do have some great improv skills Michael and what you did here is every bit as good as Brian’s original version.
I listened to the whole thing not least because you kept it interesting. 👏👏

Wonderfully played. Love how you let your Strat sing. Great double stops and vibratos. I like the alternating of chords and melodic lines.
Superb improv.More Blues!

Amazed how quickly you put this improvisation together based on the latest lesson ml140. Takes a lot of skill to handle 6 mins and be in the zone. Awesome work.

The main secret here is that I just stayed in the G major scale and utilized some harmonized 3rds in the melody. I am getting better at trusting my ear to lead the way. Playing every day might have something to do with that.
I’m hoping that many others will start to join me and come to the same realization that this is more about playing within the known possibilities that you are aware of. There is freedom in knowing where all or at least most of the stepping stones are.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Top impro Michael. You really know your way around the fretboard. And … lots of lyrical phrasing throughout. All the best!😎🎸😎

Well done Michael-very catchy and melodic. You got that Strat tone down. Your bends always ‘land’ on the right target note. Very cool.
