Hi all.
Have not been able to do a challenge in a while. I have been trying to learn this one since it came out and I nearly have it. Love these CAGED lessons I am starting to know the fretboard now.
This lesson in D is great get to learn some scales and cord tones up the neck and all close by to each other.
Anyway, it’s Friday morning here in Sydney and I’m just getting the dialysis machine ready for my wife. It’s in cleaning phase. So, I thought I would post this entry now before the work begins.
Hope you like it.

That was very good Brendan, that Strat is sounding mighty fine.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Thanks for that Michael. I have worked on my tone for awhile. I have a little 10 watt homemade tube amp and my RAT pedal.

Very nice, I have built a small watt tube amp years ago, it’s probably up in my attic somewhere. If you can get a nice sounding output transformer and the right speaker, that’s the key to the whole thing.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

This was a covid project, I was lucky enough to get help from a local amp builder to source good quality parts.

Liked very much your rendition of this great lesson Brendan! Spotlessly and soulfully played: every note has a blues feeling, with great expressiveness in your playing! Great job.

Excellent, Brendan….I also chose the same piece, on which I then continued to improvise, alternating between major and minor pentatonic….
Your performance was excellent… -

You have a nice slow hand my friend. Very smooth, soulful and tasty. Some of your bends take it all to the next level. Job well done.John

Nice! This reminds me a lot of Albert King in both tone and melody. It’s the kind of blues that never gets old. The whole thing exudes soul and makes it clear you are a confident guitarist.

Wow, Brendan, you have played that beautifully, with just the right attack and confidence! Hard work paid off – and I’m amazed that you just sat down during a short break and got a good take like that! Great stuff!

That’s a first-class job on playing that fairly complex lesson, Brendon. You look like it was easy peazy for you.

What a great start to this month’s challenge. This EP had passed me by but I shall make sure I have a try at it. You played an excellent rendition – a real old fashioned killer slow blues. Your time spent learning it really paid off.
