Hello Everybody, hope all is well out there.
Here’s my go at EP-121. I worked hardest on the ending and I think it shows. Felt like I got ahead of myself here and there however. This isn’t a piece I’d hang on to but definitely will take some cool things from it.
        So here goes………

@kubrider, hey Rob I think you need to correct the url, it’s got a little prefix on it.

                    Playing was great.

You are pretty badly out of tune.

Hi Rob, this is a great Version. As already said, great Finish.

Take you guys for listening and the feedback.
Duffy I’m curious (And concerned), was this something you could hear? Could it be that I’m not so much out of tune but rather tuned a bit higher than standard?
I recently began tuning using the software with my irig acoustic. It comes with a built in tuner which I thought was great. Without boring everyone reading this recently I’ve begun experiencing issues with the device that even has the tech department scratching their heads, so I’m wondering if in fact this is a result of that.
                        Thanks again.

Yes, I can hear stuff out of tune. To me it sounds like your unwound strings are a little sharp, compared to the others. It’s impossible for me to say whether its a question of the tuning of your open strings, or one of intonation, or perhaps of how much your strings bend with the pressure you apply while fretting them.

You can check your tuning device against any free tuning app you can download, or from free tuners that are available on the web. And that would be a good start. I will check the lesson, to see if I can get any clues from it.

It’s the B string. It usually is. The easiest way to hear it is in the B7 run in the fourth measure. You are sliding up to the B on the third string against an open B on the second string. They don’t match. To my ears, it also sticks out on any of your first position C chords.

Now, having listened to this several times, and also while looking at the tab, I have to say that you did a remarkably good job on it, tuning issues aside.

Duffy, thanks so much for all your input and help here. I’ve been racking my brain trying to put myself in the moment on that particular day. I recorded this early in the week and I’m wondering now if in my hast (Didn’t have much time, no excuse however)I neglected to tune using the built in tuner.
Thanks again for the upbeat comments.

I’ve listened to some of what you’ve posted on SoundCloud! You are really awesome at playing fingerstyle!

I’ve practiced EP145 myself and you play it way better than I ever managed! A very small part of me that’s suffering from OCD is dying to tune the top 4 strings of your guitar when I listen to your recording. But that’s only a minor thing! You are doing a great job hitting clean notes and playing the base/rhythm part!
                                Nicely done!

And regarding EP121 you really have a nice flow and impeccable note accuracy! Well done!

Indeed very nice, Rob! I’m impressed by your accuracy and how loud and clear the tones ring out. I also like the vintage sound of it – that combined with a b/w video would have been fun to watch!

Nice, I would ask you to play a little slower so you can add more felling, the ending was fine. Adjust the timing and I think you’ll be VERY happy with your playing.

Thank you Scott, Tremelo and Johan. Johan thank you for stopping by to listen to my EP145 and the nice compliments. Having thought about my tuning issues more I realized that I had recorded EP145 the same day.I had gotten the fingerstyle lesson down on the second take and figured I’d keep it going so I recorded 121 right after.
The one thing I’d tell you about my technique is I’m a three finger picker.Primarily just thumb and index, middle when I need it. I played 80% of that piece using two fingers. Middle finger mostly for accenting. I seem to have more power in that finger.
