        Hi Friends,

So I was making myself a simple backing (bass, initally) to act as a metronome to practice the piece I was working on for the next challenge. Anyhow – I got side-tracked, added some piano & drums & before I knew it I had a 15 minute recording of a jam I got kinda lost in. I don’t mind sidetracking – that’s where the fun is sometimes, yes?

I decided to film some of it – so here it is – just a minute or two of it anyhow. Bit melancholy – I find it challenging to play anything that isn’t these days!

Good fun – but must get back to that harmonised thirds challenge 🙂

        Thank you fopr looking in.

That was seriously good Gary! The tone and echo really gave it some atmosphere!

Thanks Joe, kind of you to listen & comment. I find the trick to success with delay is to consider it’s requency in tandem with the BPM of the piece. Easiest is to make the repeats either really short (‘slapback’) or to math it exactly with the bpm.

Time well spent, Gary. Sounds good to my ear.

Nice one, Gary. It’s easy to get lost in those multiple delays. Logic Pro has a “Delay Designer” app which has an infinite number of delay pattern options and a beautiful full color user interface, but it’s so complex to set up that I’ve never found a use for it. A common ordinary delay pedal has been the most useful for me.

Loved it Gary. Really cool echo/delay effect you’ve got going on there. If I remember you bought a Supro Delta King a while back, thoughts? All the best! 😎🎸😎

Hi Garry & thank you! I did have a Delta for a while – it was good. I had a run of amps on trial for a year or so – all were good (I regret parting with the little Champ 68 reverb & will probably get another at some point). Eventually I upgraded my old Katana II & got the Katana Artist 3, which I love. The delay on this track is from one of the inbuilt delay options in that.

Real nice playing with good vibrato and bends.

Nicely played Garry. It’s been a while since I have used delay effects but they sounded rather nice.
