Hi Everyone,
Once again I’m probably the first to post a response, since where I live (New Zealand) it’s 1:30PM April 29, thanks to the International Date Line. I would have waited a day, but I’ll have no access to internet tomorrow.
This was a fun lesson, very relaxing to sit and jam to it. Playing back and forth between the 3rd and 4th (and sometimes 5th) pentatonic positions helped me to get a better feel for the relationships of all the notes. I definitely feel more comfortable transitioning between the positions after this lesson. Here’s my effort:
I look forward to hearing all the other submittals.

Hi Steve!
Nice job on this one. I like that you are the first. You know how to get the party started. Keep up the good work!

Steve, so gentle the playing is. Nice how you got the fingers pick’n away. 🙂
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

That captured the nice, mellow feel of this. Sort of reminds me of some Harold Melvin stuff. And your improv at the end was nicely structured and melodic. Very well done, and a great kick off to the challenge.

Hi Steve, as already noted, very sensitively played. Your short breaks agreed to be perfect. This is a great Start. Congratulation!

Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

A great kick off, Steve! Very clean, elegant and relaxed playing; matches perfect the way I expect from a New Zealand guy.

Yep! I agree with the others, I too noticed how relaxed you were Steve, something I struggle with. This piece deserves a relaxed approach and you sounded great! well done, Phil

Like the others said, great job! I like how you have your picking fingers well anchored and compact when you’re playing. Sort of looks like Brian. My fingers seem to be flying all over the place when I try fingerstyle.
Also, liked the cool ambience.

Very nice Sunjamr. I also noticed the ease of your playing first. Minimal right hand movement, no energy wasted there! But perfect expression of the song and a nice improv, too. Well played and mixed!

Steve, nice job. Excellent timing, heard you count it out on two occasions. I like that, shows great awareness of the beat. I was also impressed with your relaxed right hand position. It appeared effortless and with minimal wasted movement.

Hi Steve,
Great relaxing playing with mellow tone and I also like the pauses which just tease us listeners. I think the southern hemisphere must inspire your relaxed and comfortable playing. I always get the warmth coming through to the cold northern half from your submissions LOL!
Cheers Bri
