I put together this tune using only my B and D strings. It’s hybrid picked (mostly) and played over a progression in A minor.
And after watching the raw video of me standing there looking less interesting than usual, I decided to edit in a quick walking tour of the bed and breakfast my wife and I run in Connecticut USA.
It’s winter here, of course, so things look a little dreary, but are still a sight better than my sweat shirt.,

Wow Paul, that’s a wonderful winter tune! Very well played. I love the melody and mood you have created. Sounds so melodic and I like the change from minor to major. A real masterpiece. Great progression and backing track, too.
Your B&B and surroundings look awsome! 🐓 What a nice stony house. Looks like in the French Provence.
I want to come and visit😃.Denise

Oh yes that was a great musical piece, it had a bit of a western vibe. Love the house and grounds it looks beautiful and the cockerel wasn’t expecting that ending! Made me laugh!

Hi Paul, that was a wonderful tune you put together. It captured the vibe of your video and the walk around your property. Both the tune and your B&B are beautiful! Thanks for taking us along.

That’s a fine tune Paul , has a western flavour to it , the harmonies add so much depth, love the tour of your homestead it has a very warm rustic look to it , and goes hand in hand with your arrangement.
I bet the guests enjoy it I know I would .Martin

What an interesting and engaging chord progression. Some of my favorite harmony work is when the harmony line plays a melody of its own- which is what I’m hearing here. Nicely done.

Nice playing Paul, sounding really good with the harmonies over that track. I enjoy your self-deprecating comments.

That is a very pretty composition Paul. And you played it beautifully. Challenge met! Was that a Rhode Island Red?

He’s a barnyard mix of several breeds, including an Easter egger (which is also a mix) and maybe a Barnvelder.

Excellent submission Paul – it chimed with the New Year atmosphere. Lovely picking and melody and tone ie business as usual. I was willing that chicken to crow at the end – it worked.

That was really cool, Paul – both the music and the video tour. I’ve only been to that neck of the woods once years ago, but I loved the area. And it was hardcore winter when I was there, coldest I’ve ever experienced in my life. I remember seeing an apple tree covered in bright red apples but no leaves, standing all alone in a snow covered field. I’m still wondering how that could happen.

This is exactly why I love watching these challenge submission from all over the World, what a delight!
Love the music you played, Paul – so simple and atmospheric, that’s what I’m always drawn to. I don’t mind watching you play it but I did enjoy the tour of the property very much, I literally felt like I was there! The rooster’s “words” at the end cracked me up, a perfect ending !🎸JoLa

Beautiful composition that fits perfectly with the challenge and with the nice winter images, thanks!
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.

A wonderful promotional video for your bed and breakfast, Paul. I would book a stay right away. Your music harmonizes perfectly with the pictures in your video. Really nice surroundings! And your music is at least as beautiful.
Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup will probably take place in the second half of AugustThere will be a detailed announcement here in the forum in good time.
I look forward to meet you.
