The last I remember some disgruntled beginner complained they didn’t have enough detail. So Brian may have thought their not worth the effort. Shame, there was some great stuff there.

John, they are still there. Just click on weekly lessons from the home page and you will see the link to the MicroLessons.

              Hi John,
If you join in the ‘meet-up’ (webinar) this evening (check for times in your location) you’ll be able to ask Brian direct.

Brian still does them occasionally, depending on time availability.
Creating and posting any video, whether it’s a full lesson, microlesson, or even a forum announcement is time consuming, no to mention the tabbing efforts involved. To have produced a full wholesome lesson each and every week for years must already be some kind of record, and without trying to kill yourself or your family time, there is only so much one person can do within 24 hours each day. Not to mention Brian may have other projects going on too, like for example jamming with others, travel etc

Someone got narky about them – then they stopped coming . There hasn’t been one this year.
I’m not complaining. This site has more content than I can ever use, just wondering.

                        I’m with ya, John.

We have just finished a very nice zoom chat with Brian and Brian hinted that the Microlessons may come back soon. They have got way more praise than criticism so I wouldn’t worry about the nay sayers too much.

I got into the Microlessons for a while, plenty of good stuff there. I reckon they are useful for someone who is just starting to do improv, because many of them contain short transferable licks etc. But maybe a new approach might be due now: What about using the Microlessons to focus on techniques and “tricks of the trade” as they say. For example, how to improve your tremolo, or basic bluegrass techniques, or how to get long sustained notes, or how to tune and use DADGAD and other open tunings. Or maybe some thoughts on using a slide.

Unless you have learned them all there still are plenty available from which to grab. I love them b/c they don’t take too long to learn. Maybe if you PM or email him and ‘suggest’ adding to his arsenal of MLs.

Long live the Micro lessons!! 🎸

Usually when my brain is overload from Brian’s full-of-content lessons 🤯😀
I grab a Micro lesson with some simple ideas that I just can learn and play on the fly.
I also like that most of the ML are standalones and acoustic (ideal when on holidays). And they are great to develop own ideas.

                          More Blues!
