I played through this track a few times after recording my first pass and that’s when I discovered what I am calling “the major 7th option.” Using the notes from that chord adds a jazzy feel and some badly needed variety. Also, I learned that I should alert members of my family in advance of recording so as not to incur a cameo appearance.
Those of you who don’t believe this is my first attempt at this solo may message me separately for a Certificate of Authenticity, though processing may take six or seven weeks.

I demand. certificate of 1st try Authenticity.
That was amazing. That’s how I want to learn to play.

That was a very entertaining video and your playing is amazing!

Nicely played Paul with a good variety from the pentatonic scale. When my wife makes a cameo appearance mid-recording, I usually get a glass of wine with it…… every little helps.

That was exceptional Paul. Really smooth playing especially for the 1st take. Congrats on a fine submission.

Hi Paul
Excellent improvisation, really pleasant, the fact that while you play you gesture and talk to your wife? denotes an extreme confidence with the fretboard and with improvisation. I believe that a more reliable certification does not exist.Livio

Great stuff as usual. I didn’t detect any flubs etc that you mentioned – the whole thing seemed perfect, and performed in a very relaxed style (which is how it should be).

Well, I don’t know if I like more your entertaining video or your brilliant playing! Probably both! Very much enjoyed your phrasing and really those 7ths major added something special to the melodies (I’ll try to take inspiration from your rendition and experiment by my self those 7ths). Then, you’re really a pro player/actor: you’re playing and a the same time talking to the camera, talking to your wife, keeping playing very well like a consummate artist after years of stage experience 😂! Really I don’t need the Certificate of Authenticity, because it was authentic fun watching your video (even though I would be curious to see how this certificate looks like 🤣)!

Nice improv for a first take.
Ha ha that appearance made you nervous right.
Same happened to me, my wife made her entrance, that is why I used the black effect.
She doesn’t like to be in the picture.I didn’t told her yet. lolAndréM

Made me laugh watching you deal with the cameo distractions 😆 The major 7th option is always the best option! Your playing was refreshing and really enjoyable to listen to.

Hahaha, Paul, the comedy of errors! I laughed out loud at that one and stopped paying attention to your playing when your wife walked in but just loved how you commanded the stage! 😅 The ability to improvise so flawlessly WHILE talking to the camera AND getting videobombed is just something else! You never missed a beat and when you did, you jumped right in like nothing happened, played like a pro – what a great first take, man! Yeah, I don’t need a certificate, this was as authentic as it gets ✌️✌️✌️

I liked most what you played when you waved your wife away the second time 😂
Honestly, your feeling for music is great: you jumped right in and it sounded good from the first second! 👍🏽👍🏽Bluesige Grüße

Nice one Paul! I like how you switched between fast licks and slower soulful ones! Great first take!
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.

“One Take (Over the Line)”, missed that at first. You predicted a comedy of errors but it wasn’t your playing. Really beautiful phrasing and tone, you’re a natural, Paul. I’d like to hear what you discovered after the fact, I bet it sounds even better.

Beautifully played Paul with some really nice phrases.

That’s the kind of guitar playing I love to hear. Just playing the notes that count and every note a fully paid up member of the story you’re telling. Lots to inspire me here Paul, you even handled the fans encroaching off stage without losing an ounce of emotion.

Nice playing Paul, good tone and super phrasing. Even dealt with a fan rushing on the stage. Pro!

You are such a cool guy, Paul. I have the feeling nothing can get you out of peace. How you mastered the cameo appearance and just continued playing. First class professional! I have seen enough, no certificate of authenticity needed.
Btw your improvisation is also first class. It was very entertaining!Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup is expected to take place in November 2025There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum in good time.
I look forward to meet you.

Hey Paul:
I enjoyed very much your “take” on this month’s challenge. It reflects your natural capability to create compelling melodies and rhythms. You sound great. It begs the question of what are your learning priorities? That’s a rhetorical question. The choices you make will have a lot of influence – on me for sure. Cheers, Tom -

. No, please don’t😆. That was so funny! I always love your videos with these “unexpected occurences”🙀🐱😻.
Your improv sounded fantastic! Great tone! I could have listened much longer. Your last lick was soo good.
Bravo!!!!

Way to go Paul! Love the “tweedlelees” – hammer-on and pull offs. Adds nice spice to your licks and done in the right amount. Thumbs up!

Hi Paul! Great performance and entertaining video 😊. If someone had walked in on me while recording this one, I’d have gotten all discombobulated and screwed up! Well done!

Well played Paul! I loved watching you look for your note on occasions & make adjustments on the fly – great example of using your era really effectively. Lovely phrasing & expressive quality. Cheers

It grabbed my ear like bees to honey. The phrasing, note choices etc were so compatible and exceptional. It’s definitely a keeper. This was 100% authentic, nothing artificial about it.

Paul, first of all great tone. (oh and now I see the cameo!) LOL. Great notes, timing, and touch. Yep I know the feeling when you run out of gas and time to fade away.
