Hi
I’m loving learning guitar…electric.I have a LTD EC 256, Epiphone 355 ES Cherry, Line 6 Catalyst 60 amp, Fender Frontmam 20 amp…a lot of cord posters, pentatonic scale posters hanging up, cord book with just I cord per page (in color) and a fuzz pedal ( I don’t know why I bought that Lol) and a few Capos.
Now with my introduction and all that being said (typed) …I was at a lost on what I needed to do with all of my stuff 😁..so,I joined the online 1 year class..yay! I now feel like I can start somewhere other than going all over the internet, YouTube ect watching videos, reading how to play like so and so …
Well, I really want to learn the right way on how to play. I want to learn how to play different types of blues music and some old rock music.
I also really want to know how to setup my amp controls and guitar tone knobs to sound simuliar to what I want to play and sound similar to what I hear on the radio and old YouTube musics.
There is a lot of information on how to play like so and so… but almost nothing on how to…Use your amp, amp controls, guitar tone knobs ect.
I looking forward to my first lesson that I will take this weekend once my 60 hr work week is finished, the farm work is done…then I can y have time for myself…lucky for my my wife loves the same music as I do…however she don’t want to play such a complicated instrument as a guitar…but she will listen to e fumbling around on mine without complaints about loud music😁
I put a photo of my 355 ES…but I don’t think I can add a photo of my LTD or amp in this body
I will add those shortlyThanks

Welcome Dwayne! I’m one of the oldest AM members, started off pretty much like you – only I probably knew less about electric guitars and gear than you do. Looking back, I probably learned about 90% of what I know about guitar playing from Brian. But I learned at least half of what I know about guitars and gear from other forum members. In olden days, we had a lot of discussions on the forum about gear – guitars, amps, pedals, recording methods, etc. But now days I think most of us already know everything there is to know about gear, because it’s seldom mentioned on the forum. Having said that, if you ever have a question about guitar setup, amp quality, pedals, or whatever, just ask here on the forum and someone will quickly respond. It’s kind of like TikTok but without having to do a dance.
BTW, no need to even mention your age. We don’t care if you’re just a youngster, you will get older and wiser with time.

All I can say is it’s a never ending journey…the trick is to have fun along the way!
As Steve said above, post your question and you are very likely to get several replies. That’s a big reason why I joined here. The “Beginner Guitar Discussions”, “Discuss Your Gear”, and “Guitar Techniques and General Discussions” forums are probably where you want to start posting your questions about gear, knobs, and other doodads!
That’s a very beautiful guitar. Welcome to AM!

Thank y’all.
I appreciate the replies and the info you provided.I will checkout the other forums that was mentioned.
I listed my age because some of the YouTube video for learning guitar.. think since older folks (in their minds) need special attention when learning to play guitar.. I only agree with that at my age.. my fingers don’t move as fast as my mind want them to do over the fretboard.
My fingers move as fast as I want them to move in my mind Lol
