I really liked the sound of this lesson. Even better there were no typical Brian fast licks. As a rare treat I managed to film this as a first take, although somehow the video got duplicated. So, it’s really only 3:00, no need to watch it twice.😜 Hope you enjoy.

Nice John! Glad you got it on the first try. I made all the flubs for you yesterday. The added part kept to the theme with some tasty bends and great feel. Love the Telecaster on this. Is it a newer addition?

Thanks, Mike. No, I’ve had the tele for several years. It’s a 2015 American Standard.

Overall probably the best you’ve posted John. To my ear beautifully balanced. Ever since you joined “the band”, your playing has a more “complete” feel to it. Your last two posts were also really good but I love this one 🙂 Keep up the good work and Thank You.

Top notch John! Played with complete control technically and musically! I especially loved your use of dynamics on this one. Kudos for a first take, something I still aspire to but never come close and … loved your comment re: Brian’s fast little runs! Great to see a lesson where those little pesky spots are nowhere to be seen. Thanks for posting this one. All the best! 😎🎸😎

Great take on this John. The original was pretty much spot on with some lovely bends. Your added part implemented a nice mix of rhythm elements and creative leads. The part with the bass note call and response was especially good. What a tasty looking Tele.

Oh boy, simply incredible! – especially given the short time you had to master this tune and add more to it! I actually love your added licks even more! I really dig the way you made the tone break and keep it clean otherwise, that’s the best best tone to my ear, a true masterclass, John.
The stunning tele reminds of the George Harrison model that I’ll never have 😉🎸JoLa

That was wonderful John. Pro quality. I love how mellow this sounded.

That is one sexy a** looking and sounding Tele. Once again, I am jealous. Marvelously performed. I hate to tell you this but the Tele sounds better than the Strat.

Really smooth playing there John!! Great tempo throughout, and for a first take, it was excellent!! Love the Tele looks and sound!!

That was great John and I can see this is going to be a popular lesson 😀
Your own improvs were really good and I liked that creative use of harmonics. That was a different take on this one. The little bit of added distortion was just right too.

Oh how I dream of banking the first take! Up there with hitting a hole in one!
That was superb 👌 and I really liked the repeated harmonic “call” on the bass string in your additions. Going to have a crack at this lesson when I get back from my holiday.-

Exactly, Andy, and probably as rare as a hole in one. I’ve certainly never done either before this.

Wow, great stuff, John! Really impressive to nail this on the first take. What a great indication of the level your playing has gotten to.
Spot on tone as always. The tele definitely suits you!

Yeah great John.
I’ve just started looking at this one.
I thought your own additions to the piece fit in very well indeed.
The Tele sounds fantastic.
Liam.
P.s Big kudos for nailing it in one take. I think I’ve only ever accomplished that feat once before – a rare treat indeed!

Great overall rendition, John, and what I liked the best is your own original second part, really very well composed and played, with some fantastic licks and melodies (to borrow for sure)!
