@charjo this one is a raw live recording for sure. Still a good capture of Jimi playing live
Almost sounds like a 2nd guitar on this one but there are no credits listed
Recording is from the Cafe Au Go Go in 1968. It’s not clear who is actually playing on this track besides Jimi, but others in attendance on that night, and jamming with him, were Paul Butterfield, Elvin Bishop, Al Kooper, and none other than B.B. King.
Thanks
Not quite the beautiful, mellow tone I associate with Little Wing. I prefer the two versions in the last video.Fascinating to hear the solos, though, I think the scale changed with every chord.
Great version, thanks for posting. When I need to remember my first inspirations to play a gittar, Hendrix is right there.
Does anyone know what release this is from? Like the title of the CD? Thanks for any info. (Someone on the YouTube comments said this was recorded on March 17, 1968, so I already have that additional bit.)
Phillip Wilson is credited with sax on the image, which I figure is from the packaging (someone with that name was a drummer with the Butterfield Blues Band and the Art Ensemble of Chicago, given the time and place, I think it would be the same guy–I’d like to hear the rest of this session someday, Mr. Wilson was a fantastic musician). I didn’t hear sax here though.

If it’s Jimi, I love it….he actually sounds human here…..
Thanks
