Jimmy Rogers was born in 1924, and is best known for being with the best harp player of the time, Little Walter, in the trio that included Muddy Waters.
They had a lot of hits – That’s All Right (heard on this lesson), Rock This House, Walkin by Myself, Chicago Bound, etc., etc., all covered by everybody over the last 70 years. Look em up, it’s a treat, and Jimmy was in the middle of it.
Here’s a sample, where Brian took some Jimmy Rogers style licks and put them together in two choruses. So it’s a quick listen to some Chicago Blues, fun to listen to, and fun to play . . .
Happy new year!

Bruce
Maybe you should do a podcast. I enjoy listening to your stories as they apply to the music technique. Always enjoyable. Nicely played as well. Love the Tele.JH

Well-played, Bruce. If you listen closely to Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) you can hear the Jimmy Rogers influence. Happy New Year to you, sir.

Good stuff, Bruce! The fingerstyle blues on slightly dirty electric sounds so good. Classic sound.

That’s great Bruce. I love those old 40s/50s blues cuts. You got that gnarley small driven amp tone dialed in good for this.
