R.I.P. Very important artist to Estonians
Never heard of him Lights but he was definitely a very good musician. RIP

He was perhaps the most popular and best known singer songwriter in South Africa, although virtually unknown elsewhere, except Estonia (according to Lights). I knew of him because I have had some South African friends here in New Zealand. For some reason, after his stint of fame in South Africa, he returned to America, gave up his music career, and ended up working in a warehouse. He disappeared from public view, but the South Africans kept wondering what happened to him. So in 2012 two South Africans set out to find him and made a documentary about their journey. It’s quite a fascinating story:

He sounds like a mix of David Gray and Bob Dylan. I’m enjoying listening to him and sad that he’s gone.
