I spent a fair amount of time trying to decide what I wanted to do. I ended with the keep it simple approach and used mostly triads with the D, A, and E CAGED chord shapes on the backing track of EP524. Gear wise Collings 360 plugged straight into a Fender Deluxe Reverb Blond Tone Master recorded with my Iphone. Thanks for taking a listen.

Well played David. Great to hear a different approach and a composition using the different triads up and down the neck. 👏👏🌟👏👏 Keep on pickin’ and all the best! 🥸🎸🥸

Your use of triads leads to such a melodic result, David. Very interesting and inspiring and so well played. You have made the right decision!

A cool melody you put together using those triads around the chord shapes.
Nice job, David.James

I totally agree with James. You have created wonderful sounds. Great idea well implemented.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Yep, that’s exactly what Brian intended that lesson to be. You 100% achieved that goal. Well played!

That sounded so interesting, kind of like something the Beatles would have done. Great triad work out, too – well done, David!

Hi David, your choice of triads really works well over the single chord track. It gives the whole thing life and direction. A very enjoyable composition!

I love your finger picking pattern and touch David. It’s a perfect fit with the backing track. And, as always, I think “tone” is your middle name. Beautiful.
Cheers, Tom

Nicely done. I’m learning so much just from watching everybody’s challenge responses. I could easily see the triads you played up and down the neck. Thanks!

I agree with JoLa, a bit of “Beatle-esk” sound and very pleasant piece.
This was beautifully done,

That turned out great, had a very charming quality to it. The Collings into the Tonemaster sounds great.

David
This is your best submission. Simple but you invoke the spirit of the lesson and embellish it with some highly tasty chops. After watching this I am better understanding some of these concepts that are not always so obvious. You are getting some great tone as well. -

Nice use of triads in the three positions , simple approach but very effective and that’s all it needs , the tone you have dialled in from your set up sounds great .
