Just wanted to say hi to everyone here. I was diggin around the forums last night and seems like this is a pretty cool community!
I found this site after I started playing more electric and was looking for Jimi style stuff on Youtube and found that ep365 super fun to play.
Been playing for 20 some odd years. I had guitar as an option in junior high, and I took a year of classical lessons around that time, after that I tried figuring it out on my own for years and then finally did a few years private lessons 5-6 years ago and have been just figuring it out with the knowledge obtained from lessons.
I have mostly been playing nylon string guitars since I started. Owned some electrics, but always liked my classical more for fingerpicking. Recently I picked up an Epiphone Les Paul on sale for a fair price at a local shop here and started playing more blues stuff, and I’ve really have been enjoying playing electric. I just picked up a Player Strat this past Friday actually! Super fun to play.
It’s really cool to see how many talented musicians there are here, with lots of skill and knowledge. It’s very inspiring.

Hi Marek, welcome to AM! Lots of resources to use here and a lesson added every Friday. Congrats on your new Stratocaster also. I have a feeling it will be put to good use here!

Welcome to AM! You will find so many cool lessons here will different Blues styles. Brian is a brilliant teacher AND composer.
I see that you also like Chet Atkins. He’s a big influence for me and the reason why I want to improve my finger picking.
Greets from Switzerland.

I agree, Brian is really good and a wealth of knowledge. I like his style of teaching.
I’m a huge Chet Atkins fan, and I am quite jealous of your beautiful Gretsch!
One of my other favorite gutiarists is Lenny Breau, who has an amazing album with Chet called Standard Brands.
I took private lessons with Lenny’s son Chet for a few years. It was neat hearing stories about Chet Atkins and Lenny Breau from Chet Breau. I feel especially blessed that he allowed me to hold his Lenny’s famous 7 string classical.
