Well it’s time, I finally had some downtime to actually bring something together on GarageBand. I was playing around with building a backing track to jam to, and follow the steps to build a drum, bass and rhythm guitar track using the sound assets and tools on Garageband as shared by Brian & Bryce…wow, what powerful stuff!
The whole recording was done on an Ipad!! The guitar is a Strat, connected thru Irig to the ipad, the amp is a twin reverb model with OD & boost pedals on Amplitube app also on the Ipad, connected to garageband running on the Ipad where I had built the backing track with my fingers, which I thought was kinda cool. The solo improv in real time…. and all the mistakes are me….it’s not one of our lessons, maybe not even blues…LOL…. but thought I’d share my first ever self recording….I am at your mercy!

PS working on getting video….

Hi Roberto!
Wow! That was great! I have just listened to BWild’s ‘letting go’ jam, and now yours! Yes, it is definitely Blues of the high octane kind!
Waiting for your next Blues/rock jam with great excitement!
Cheers,
Rich F

I would say your “experiment” went very well, Roberto! A very cool (home-made!) backing track and lead guitar over it. I like that fat sound and the groove. Been bopping my head to it from the first note 😉
Looking forward to future postings from Maradonagol!-

Hi Maradonagol,
I’ve been away with an unstable wi-fi connection. First chance to hear you. I loved the backing track and the soloing. What great tones you managed to find. I’ll be expecting a lot of great submissions after hearing your little experiment.

HI charjo, glad you are back and thanks so much for your comments, very motivating……it really is still like magic to be able to do this on an Ipad…and I probably only scratched the surface of what’s possible!
Be well,
Roberto

Hey! Enjoyed that a lot! That is probably the best style to jam to and just let ‘er rip.. Good work.. keep it up! I have to say that is probably the best setup for recording, as I am stuck in windows. It is a little more frustrating when all the pieces don’t always get along..
Don't practice till you get it right, practice till you can't get it wrong.

Hi Music-AMG, thanks so much for listening and your comments….glad you liked it!
Best thing I did a few years back was switch everything over to Apple…nothing is perfect but everything just seems to work together, and the SW available for music is amazing. But if you don’t have to switch anything, if you have an Ipad you just need the Irig connector and you are good to go with Garageband.
Thanks and best regards,
Roberto
