I’ve been needing a decent set of headphones for a while now – especially since my Siberian Husky decided recently to use my ear buds as her new chew toy… in addition to my Dish TV remote…. and my mp3 player case. Musician’s Friend had TASCAM TH-300X Studio Headphones as a Stupid Deal of The Day earlier this week. I’ve seen these on websites for $99 to $149 and I got these for $40. Not bad.
I don’t like headphones that are so bass heavy that you think that there is a subwoofer wrapped around each ear. These headphones seem to be very neutral and the response is pretty flat. Stereo separation is really good as well
Comfortable for long term use, ear pieces aren’t very hot even though they are vinyl covered.
They come with a ¼” adapter but instead of just slipping on as most do, this one is threaded and provided great contact that won’t eventually wobble so much that you have intermittent problems. Head band is metal and well cushioned. I have a set of JBL Tim McGraw headphones that sounds really good but the headband is plastic and it broke in a short amount of time.
These aren’t noise cancelling but with no music playing, the fit over the ears block most of outside sounds.
So, if you are looking for headphones, keep a watch on MFs Stupid Deal Of The Day. I’m sure they will have these on sale again
