I don’t like feeding the Gibson/Epiphone or Fender/Squier machines any more so I’m always looking for quality alternatives. (no offense to owners of those brands)
This guitar was advertised as being 3 months old and came with the Washburn HSC. Not a spot on it and the quality and workmanship is top notch, typical of Washburn. I basically paid half of the cost of a new one.
Body is made with mahogany with black binding, hardware is distressed with a nice look of copper, Grover tuners. Nice piece of wood for sure
I don’t know what the former owner used to shine this but the mahogany is gorgeous, with that deep red grain shiningFeels like it has 9s on it so I’ll wait til I get some pure nickel strings on it to comment about its sound. From what I can tell so far, the pickups are pretty strong

Whoa! Congratulations on that steal! I only read positive reviews about this model and am looking forward to what you say about the tone once you changed the strings. Are you going to use the DR Pure Blues PHR-11 again? I am planning on buying them after I had to change my D’Addario XL 115s (which I liked. But I want to look at other strings that I might like even better). Anyway, I wish you lots of fun with your E-Bay gem!

Yeah, DR Pure Blues PHR11 are my reference strings and right now, I’m fresh out of those; time to order some.
I have a set of Ernie Ball Pure Nickel Power Slinky’s 2250 and a set of GHS Burnished Nickel but I want to wait until one of my G&L’s need strings to use those. Want to be sure that I’m doing a true A-B comparison
I’m hoping that the Ernie Ball will live up to the reviews that I’ve read. Considerably cheaper than the Pure Blues when you buy several setsUsing the settings that have been using with my Peavey JF-1, I had to back off the gain of my amp quite a bit in order to clean up the tone of the Washburn. I installed a set of Alnico 3 PAFs in the Peavey, which gives it a really sweet 50ish tone without the drive of a PAF like a Gibson Classic 57. The Washburn probably has ceramic magnet pickups with more power but I have to say that they sound pretty good so far.
I’ll play more tonite after the sun goes down and tomorrow morning, the blues will be all ’round my bed. While the wife is at work, I’ll fire up the Peavey Classic 50 to give a real test.

A while back, I came close to buying a Washburn, but passed because I didn’t know very much about the brand. Looks like you got a jewel. Rock on!!!
