Hi,
Been a member since the start of the month. I can download the lesson tabs no problem. Can anyone tell me whether the MP3 backing tracks are truly downloadable for off-line use, or if they can only be used whilst on-line?
I can left click on the play button and it plays. If I click on the “download button” the track opens in full screen, so it’s the same as on the lesson page, except the time line is full screen width and much easier to click back to repeat a section.
I saw something within the site on this topic where someone talked of R clicking the “download button” but that doesn’t produce a save function I can work with.
Any help appreciated. Loving the content in general.
Cheers, from a wet and miserable UK!

Hi Billy,
Thanks for your reply. Weather’s bad everywhere it seems. My wife’s American, and her cousin in Boston sent pictures of the 15 inches of snow they had yesterday. At least we can still drive around. 2 inches in the UK would bring the country to a halt!Sadly on the full screen I’m getting from the download button, there are no “options” buttons to click on. I’ve included a couple of pictures. Baffled.
I did email AM support midweek, but haven’t heard anything yet.
I’d appreciate you checking out the pics to make sure I’m really not missing something, but I’ll probably have to chase up support again. At least I’ll be able to refer to the missing options button. Presumably you got that screenshot today?
Thanks again

Looks like you are possibly on a mac and not a PC. Im sure if you do a search on the forum you will find download info from other mac users.
Best of luck mate...Billy..

Sorry Billy – Windows 10 PC. Another reply said to right click on on the download button and “save as”. When I do that it only offers to save the link, which suggests it leads back to only being able to view online. I’m about to post a reply to that member with a picture of the right click options

Hi Dave,
thanks for the reply. the mystery deepens. If you look at the attached pictures, and the replies to Billy above, you will see all the options I’m able to bring up on any of the two screens ( within lesson and when I get the full screen view of the mp3.)
I’m seeing things differently to what you guys in the States are seeing – presumably today?
Thanks,
Kim -

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your help. Your method works. I just wasn’t going far enough. I stopped when it said “link” as I thought that would only save the link to the website.
All sorted now.
Cheers

Ah, in that case you could possibly benefit switching your browser to “Chrome”, the forum works best on that or firefox..

KimAh, I see what your doing now mate. You are “RIGHT” clicking on the download …”LEFT” click is what you need to do.

Hi Billy – I think we’ve come full circle. Left clicking brings up the full screen version but for me there are no 3 dots to click onto. Probably something that only AM technical can sort.
Thanks for trying anyway. You’ve told me that they should be downloadable.Cheers

Hi Kim
I use win 10 and Firefox so no problem. I have only just updated from win7. But it is the same as it was in win 7 for me just use the ‘save link as’ selection on the right click menu that you show in your pictures then the explorer map/menu window opens and you select the storage folder and name and your away. Which county are you?
JohnStrat UK SussexPS It is a confusing and misleading menu choice description
and should in my view read ‘save the linked file to:-‘-

Hi John,
I’m in Dorset, 5 miles west of Wimborne, 6 miles north of Poole, just off the A31 in a village called Sturminster Marshall.Where are you?
Just seen your comment on this weeks lesson. Similarly I’m happier with a slow blues. Still getting to grips with EP173 but getting there slowly.

Hi Kim,
Like you (and a few others) I use win 10 and firefox. I’ve have used two methods to save jam tracks.
1. The ‘save as’ method that others have described.
* Put your mouse pointer over the “DOWNLOAD MP3” text
* Right click to bring up the menu
* Select “Save Link As…”2. The ‘full screen’ method
As you are aware, if you left click on “DOWNLOAD MP3”, firefox goes to ‘full screen’ mode and starts playing the jam track. You can download from here.
* Put the mouse pointer some place on the track control bar. It must be somewhere on the track control bar. Any place else and it won’t work. I suggest putting the mouse pointer right on top of the play button.
* Right click to bring up the menu
* Select “Save Audio As…”Hope this helps,
