Sorry, late again!
Instead of scripting out the composition first, I started off with what came to my mind and then just let my inspiration flow. The initial lick (Bminor with a pull-off to sus2) came first, and from then on it was all trial and error. I just played what came to my mind and if I liked it, I kept it and went on. I think I mixed a number of keys and even rhythmically, this is difficult to play with a metronome. Well anyway, here it is. With a little video. Unfortunatley, I didn’t realize that adding effects (Sepia) slows down the video. Also, I think I used the wrong video. This one gets out of whack towards the end. I apologize and hope it doesn’t distract too much.

Hi, Trem! Better late than never! Funny composition, fits good to some cartoon soundtrack, really.

Kevin, what’s the problem my friend? That was a good Improvisation, that you played well and there is still room for improvement. Thumbs up; nice that you submitted something else.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Thanks Wilfried. I didn’t think it was all that bad. But yes, there is room for improvement.

Very creative, Trem. Nice chord sequences and licks. The sepia looks good. But if adding sepia slows down your video, there is something wrong with your video software. But whenever you record audio and video separately, and the video has several clips, it can be challenging to sync everything exactly. Nevermind, no one would ever notice.

Thanks Steve. Glad you liked it. I am using Cyberlink Powerdirector as video editor and the more I use it, the more I like it. But I was surprised when the Sepia-coloured video didnt “perform” similar to the version without it. Next video will be better, I hope.

And look who’s here, still submitting on a Tuesday! 😉 Like Meelis said, better late than never so it’s good to see you join us in this record breaking challenge month, Kevin!
I didn’t see anything wrong with your video, it was well done in my opinion. I use iMovie and some effects do slow down the video but only during production. Once I finalize it and save it, everything looks good. Maybe it’s the same issue with your software.
Your improvised playing was fun to listen to and very good! Especially that it was made up on the spot, you’re a good player! I also tab some of my “compositions” and have a hard time to put them in writing, especially the rhythm parts. But I’m slowly learning, I guess. Anyway, great submission and I’m glad you made it 😊

Thanks for your kind words, JoLa, but I didn’t make up the licks on the spot. In the end, I played something different than planned, but that basically happens with everything I play.
Did you see that I tabbed my composition into Soundslice? It sounds different, because I haven’t done it properly, but it comes close. You had given me that idea in one of your posts. It may be a little bit of work, but I think there is value in doing it. And it was fun to watch a machine play my composition for me!

I liked it. A good clean sound, cool licks and some dreamy chords. Plus it’s all your own. Cool stuff 👍

Thanks for your kind words, Garry! Some of the licks I used where used, so to speak. Recognizably Brian-induced. But some are really just my own. That’t why I like it, actually. Still, I definitely need to add more licks to my repertoire…

Hey Billy, you are absolutely right. Why the heck am I late so often??? That’s irritating, even for me, haha. Well, at least I got punished (no comment from Brian). But thanks for getting 10 out of 10 for creativity, that’s a big compliment. Having said that, I am glad you made it to the challenge, too. I am going to rush to it right away. Cheers!
