Hi All,
One of my goals joining AM was to learn to improvise so my plan has been to learn some BB King Lessons first. I reckon just focusing on the BB King Box and some Extension Boxes mainly is the way to go (Start out small and then branch out so to speak). So I’ve learnt EP102 and EP041. I’ve then probably used 85% of the actual lessons and started to play around with adding small ideas and leaving out some of the original. Hopefully eventually I’ll need less of BB and more of other influences and some of my own. We are in Hard Lockdown here in Melbourne for the next 6 weeks at least so plenty of time to practise!!! Anyway here it is.

That was excellent Garry. Very relaxed and smooth. Felt like I was sitting in a Blues Lounge.

Sounds great Garry. You’re well on your way to improvising on the fly.

Garry from what I see and hear.. it’s a short goal for you nailed it down.. very nice BB King blues feel on the fretboard man! I’m listening with power gasoline generator.. power down here from outage tropical storm 2 days ago and it is a mess.. using just wireless phone LTE 4G mobile Carrie for SVC today.. hopefully utilities repair arrive today but they’re so many storm outages they told me today oh well ..12 g monthly plan see how it eats up data LoL

Way to go Garry. That’s exactly what I did when I first joined AM. I figured the BB King style might be one of the easiest to learn, so I did a deep dive into it, just like you. It worked.

Nice choices, two of my favorites… good job on these Gary… my feeling is if you can get these down both go a long way in adding a lot of texture to a blues jam…. keep these licks in your wheelhouse forever…. you sound like a real blues man!!
