I found this lesson at another site about 2 years ago (details at the end if you’re interested). It’s the Berry Blues, and it captures some of his old familiar riffs, and also a lot of lines that he wove into his ballads and instrumentals.
This one had me looking through my old record collection. So here’s a take on my all time favorite, Chuck Berry:

Uh oh, Bruce is loose! Berry nice collection of licks, and well played. I’m pretty sure old Chuck would have loved hearing this. Or maybe he wouldn’t have, since by many accounts, he was kind of a grouchy guy.

Johnny B. Goode was the first lead solo I ever learnt on a borrowed electric (albeit an abridged version of the solo). Thanks Bruce!

As a very young teenager and a budding guitarist I was captivated by British performers until I heard Chuck Berry’s ‘Sweet Little Sixteen’ with his band The Rocking Berries. My focus on guitar from then on was totally changed; those typical riffs and grooves were unmistakable and remarkable.
Thanks Bruce, you were obviously a fan as well.Richard

The King of Double Stops! Great stuff Bruce. Steve, I heard the same on grumpiness – LOL! My first guitar teacher had a chance to gig with him way back. Michael (the teacher) said just that – only a little more animated. Awesome playing on your part Bruce and you are waaaaaaay cooler and nicer! Bob

Bruce,
Your in my wheelhouse buddy – grew up on this stuff and although I have been doing Chuck Berry songs for years I know for a fact that you just demonstrated more licks than I ever thought about. Just a super job. You have inspired me to look up a recording of J B Goode I did quite a few years ago – if it’s still in my computer I will post it.
Thanks for the info at the end of the video.

Thanks for all the comments. You guys are right, Chuck probably wouldn’t have liked it (ask Keith Richards about tributes to Chuck Berry).
Thanks again!
