  I would be curious to know what is going through your head while you’re playing like that? Are you thinking scale patterns? Chords? Do they lite up for you on the fretboard like Brian sometimes mentions? I’m sure a lot of it is just experience and muscle memory or is it ALL experience and muscle memory and you’re not thinking anything at all?
