Greetings Jammers. The final mix is here. https://app.box.com/s/abd6v4s0lxlpyf054zas03upbfj7xkvv
As you are probably aware I had to trim some of the solos to keep it relatively small. As it is , it ended up being 9.5 minutes! Well done jammers!!
Big shout out to Sunjamr Steve for creating the excellent BASS/Drum track. This, I feel, really lifted the backing track to a more Floydian level!!
I have added the odd effect here and there to bring out your excellent playing. If its not to your personal liking please let me know and I will happily remix it.
The more I listen to it (several times now) the more I really like it. Its becoming an earworm! Thanks again to everyone involved for their timely efforts. If your are keen for another just PM me with ideas for the next backing track. I will make a list and get everyone to vote on the next backing track etc. Here is the order of players and what time they start
Eric C starts @ 00.07
John H starts @ 01:18
Andre starts @ 2:29
Craig S starts @3:37
Jola starts @ 4:49
Wblues starts @ 6:01
Jaime starts @ 7:06
Charjo starts @8:16This was really fun for me and I would love to do it again!

Oh, man! Craig, you did a fantastic job remixing and putting all this together! This is incredible! And seeing my name among all those top AM players seems like a typo, haha!
I like all the magic you inserted into it – so well done, everyone! Some great music here, love it! Oh, and I like the list you made who plays what and when, great idea!

Thats awsome guys. One better than the other. It is fantastic to see how all the musicians tried to adapt to the previous one.
And Jola you sound very like Gilmour. I‘m looking forward to meet you all at the next jam.Blue

Hah, I actually did not hear anybody’s playing until this post! And thanks, Blue, but it’s the effects that Craig added that sort of gilmourized my take 😉

I’m speechless, what a fabulous performance by all players taking part. You certainly captured that Floydian feel. Congratulations all round for a superb project and particularly Craig who did an excellent session coordinator job, let alone the professional remixing.

Another show stopping performance by the AM Jammers! Keep these going, they are so much fun to listen to, and I’m sure a blast to put together. Everyone sounded great!

Jola, you are a hoot! I think you were right where you belonged. Same for me, I didn’t hear anybody’s playing until the final mix. So much fun to hear the different styles and tones, one after another. What impressed me the most was the consistent quality all the way through and I’m sure Craig’s mix gets credit here, too. Great job everybody.

On second listen, I think a good part of the “glue” was the bass and drum track. It’s amazing how the rhythm section holds everything together. Thanks for that, Steve. The bass lines were awesome.

Hey just wanted to say great job AM Jammers. What a pleasure and honor it is to be part of this community of players. You are all inspiring, fun and a great diversion from all that is going on today. Thanks again Craig for spearheading and producing this.
Yours in jamming,

Wow, this sounds great! Thanks again Craig for the idea and coordination, and Steve for the bass and drum, that served as a glue to tie it all together.
Looking forward to participate on the next one!

I’m wondering if I should make a video of this so it could be posted on Youtube. I’m thinking if the participants could send me just a photo of them in their music rooms (pretending to be playing) I could insert their photo plus their AM username and the country where they are located at the appropriate place in the soundtrack. Kind of like the Playing For Change videos in their Songs Around the World series. Ideally it would be good to have an actual video clip of each person playing, but at this stage it’s probably too late for that. So just a photo would do. What do you think?

Totally agree with you, Steve. I thought about video too although that sure requires a lot more effort, especially for me… I would have to get out of my jammies and fix my hair, haha! 😉 But good idea for the next jam. I’ll send you a photo so we can have the EP306 jam on YouTube. In fact, we should do something similar for the first track as well…? Have a separate YT channel, a.k.a. “AM Jammers”?

I thought of having our own Youtube channel, but I wonder who would manage it. We would have to set up a Gmail address, but as I have recently discovered, only one person would be able to access it. So my thinking is to just put the video up on Box.com, then the participants could download it and post it on their own Youtube channels.

Steve and everyone…
I thought about it and as much as I enjoy seeing others play, I think putting the videos together is too much of a task for just jams and I think it would take some fun away from it. Also, as Craig noted, having to shoot a video could discourage many from participating.Yes, it would be nice to have a group video eventually but maybe for a bigger project, like maybe collectively writing and performing a song..?
I think we can put together really nice videos with just photos of each player and post it here at Active Melody under Showcase Your Playing. Maybe if there’s many of them over time, they may get their own Forum section…? We would rotate video creators and the creator would just post it on their Youtube or Vimeo channel. I understand, Steve, you’re making the video of EP306 jam, I can do the next one (EP078) and so on….
And I think we could just upload our photos to our AM Jammers Box where we upload the audio tracks?Well, those are my ideas. The main idea is to keep is simple and fun. What do you think?

Yes I agree, any Youtube / Vimeo account is going to be a tied to a particular email. I don’t know of any video service that has “team accounts”. So I think we could upload it to our personal accounts, and use a hashtag like #amjammers or #amjammersinc so they’re easier to find?
