on Home page at bottom of the left hand column of lesson is Beginner Course and Blues Lead Course. Both are excellent starting points.
and you can’t go wrong with minor pentatonic for playing the blues.

Pretty much all blues notation uses tabs, which is super easy to read. I can actually play from a tab sheet pretty good, as long as I can read the print. Practicing with your guitar sitting on your right leg might seem a little weird after holding it in the classical position on your left leg, but you get used to it. It would be a good idea to keep your string gauge light. Fender Strats and Telecasters come standard with 009s, and that’s what I use simply because they are kinder to my fingers. You should learn the pentatonic scale positions forwards and backwards, and how to jump from one to another, say for example from 1st position to 4th position. The courses Moose mentioned are great, but don’t forget to just pick a lesson or two and dive straight into it.

And keep in mind you don’t have to shift from playing with the fingers to playing with the plectrum to play electric blues guitar; some of the great blues guitarists only played fingerstyle – Albert King and JJ Cale are a couple that readily come to mind. And Brian has a heap of electric blues lessons played fingerstyle.

There is hybrid picking which is a great skill and in widespread use amongst many top players. I doubt it would be very alien to you. I was wondering if it might pay you to search out some of those lessons 244 is a great one in the style of Ry Cooder and Sony Landreth you use pick and fingers. There is also a great JJ Cale lesson at 103 which has two parts one lead and on rhythm and I think they are finger picking all the way. You will make fast progress I am sure so enjoy the ride.
