Hey guys,
David Gilmour’s guitars have just gone up for auction collectively earning $21.5 million USD for a charity against global warming.
Gilmour’s main guitar -a 1969 black stratocaster played on most of Pink Floyd’s albumns since 1970 – went for a cool USD $3,975,000 making it (from what i gather) the most ever paid at auction for a guitar.
While a historic ’54 white & gold strat (with #001 serial number) went for $1.8mil – FYI it’s not the first strat made despite what the serial# says. This one was used for Rhythm guitar part of Another Brick in the wall.
