A few of days ago I gets this text from John one of my biker mates, ” Lad has given up guitar Bill, you looking to buy?”, sadly I’m not but I start contacting guitar mates around the city….then it goes quiet for a day..
Text message from another Biker mate Gordon, “Billy, I’m thinking about taking up guitar so looking for advice”,I’m trying to point him in the direction a quality acoustic…then it goes quiet for a day..
Now prices and pictures of guitars are being text to me, you know the type of thing, the £20 guitars cos Gordon has searched google for 2 hours and is now an expert bargain guitar hunter.
Gordon isn’t interested in anything John has for sale, But I know that John has a rather tastie Eastman PCH acoustic…but as I said, i’m not in the market for buying another guitar, seriously I’m not..
So today I have ended up the owner of yet another guitar, was in a bit of a mess if truth be told. Looks like Johns lad had stored the guitar in a damp garden shed( its about time now for some pictures eh)
Strings had rusted over, verdigre on the fret wires, Bone of the bridge and nut have been discoloured by the rusty strings but these guitars have a huge reputation for sub £500 Guitars..(it’s about time now for the spec’s)

Tbh, I think I over paid what the guitar is worth because of the condition, but as I said John is a biker mate who has probably dug me out of a hole more times than I care to acknowledge.Stripped the guitar down, binned the strings, lemon oiled the fretboard and of course cleaned up the fret wires. I’ll give the guitar a day of two to acclimatise its new setting and then i’ll pop a set of 10’s on and see where it goes from there..
..Billy..
