Robert,
You should check out the beginner guitar course.
Good luck,

Hi Robert,
It depends how much of a beginner you are… If you are really just starting out and learning the basic chords, then you should definitely look into the Beginner Guitar Course like Albert mentioned above. However, if you got the basics down, there are many lessons here that you would be able to play. You could browse the lessons in the Beginner Guitar Lesson (Easy) category (under the Search box). Some of them may still be too difficult and some may seem difficult at first but you would be surprised how much you can learn once you dig into it.
And last but not least, be sure to check out the Microlessons. Pick one you like and you’ll be playing something in no time, most of them are easy enough for beginners.
Hope that gives you some ideas 🙂

Jola ‘s advice is great and right on but I can make a recommendation of one lesson that sticks out so that you can get to play something that is in essence simple sounds great and will constantly reflect your progress. You will soon make basic playing progress with it, it is lesson LEG022.:-
Simple Lead Played in the Major Pentatonic Scale (Key of E) – LEG022
This lesson is also deceptive because to get it sounding really top dog you need quite a bit of technique and that will only come with time and experience But you will be able to have something to show for your troubles in fairly short order and you will enjoy playing it. Coming back to it in due course from time to time as you move ahead and likely you will notice that you can make it sound a bit better as you pick up the ability to add the embellishments. You will start to understand just how much tone comes from the players fingers the all important ingredient. So its a great start up piece that sound wonderful. Give it a go and see what you think.
Hope that helps JohnStrat

Hi Robert,
Where to start or easy lessons for a beginner is a question we see popping up on Active melody from time to time.
Sadly Active melody isn’t set out in a “beginner/inter/expert” sequence, Some right good advice from Jola and John posted above though personally i just started with the lesson which drew me in to Active melody as my point of entry..
Hope you find something and we get to hear your playing soon...Billy..

Thanks for all your replies and encouraging words of advice. I knew some of it already so really appreciate the suggestion of a specific lesson to try.
Thanks Robert -

One of the first lessons I learned was EP022. It is possibly the easiest lesson in the collection. You only have to learn 3 notes and play them very slowly. Yet it sounds good. AND, you are encouraged to mess around and re-arrange those 3 notes, so that you can create your own improv. Life doesn’t get any better than that.
BUT: You must have the ability to play the jamtrack at a decent volume. In fact, that’s true for most of the lessons.
