HI all,
Last Friday I saw a post on FB that Davy Knowles would be playing here in Rochester. Kind of surprised he was playing at a place called the Little Theater…cause it’s little, maybe 290 people max…smaller than a modern high school auditorium. Anyway, have been following him since I saw the video below which I’ve posted before (he’s playing my new PRS!!)….
He is from the Isle of Man in the UK, has a new album out (Three Miles from Avalon) and though as @Don D. would say he is a blues-rock player, his new material, new guitars and overall direction is more traditional. It was the best show I’ve been to in years!!!! First, Sunday night, the place wasn’t full, so it was like being at a bar..shook hands with people….just perfectly tight band…a tone to die for on his vintage tele (used to play PRS) lots of improv…and interaction with the audience….and the guitar playing…..speechless, an acoustic solo set including Drobo slide songs….if you have a chance go see him please!!!
