You say, “instead of the muted upstroke stroke, this time I mute the downstroke and upstroke.” But then you go on to say “so it’s up, down, up, up.” Aren’t you saying two different things about the “hiccup”? And aren’t you changing the shuffle pattern? Ordinarily in the shuffle patter there’s a muted upstroke then downstroke on the chord. Right? But if we’re -I think this is what you’re saying- muting now first, the upstroke and the downstroke, then we’re hitting the chord w/ an upstroke (and not the usual) downstroke. And the final upstroke is just plainly unclear to me.
I also wanted to say that I really enjoy this lesson and all your 12 bar blues lessons.
