I’ve heard several members say their postings and/or comments just disappeared after they posted them. Lately several of mine have also disappeared. Has anyone else experienced this strange phenomenon? It is entirely possible that the “many worlds” theory that comes from quantum physics is actually true, and my consciousness just switched into an alternate universe where I never actually posted those things. But if that’s true, why do I remember posting them?

Hi Steve, are you implying that the posts disappeared after they had already appeared on the site? Or that you and other members had hit the post button only the send their messages into Nirvana, so that they were never to be read by anyone?
Neither has happened to me as far as I know (because I often do not keep watch on my posts). But what happened to me is that posts disappeared after I edited them. This indeed happened several times before.

Something that has happened to me which I’ve done a few times, if you key in a message and then click ‘Submit’ the message will appear as usual but if you hit the ‘back button’ on your device to return to the original AM page, as a consequence you will delete the message you’ve just typed and posted. It maybe a bit obvious but in my case it’s an age thing.

I suspected the same as you are now many times in the past,, I’m thinking it has to be quantum mechanics myself,, I honestly ignore the algorithm machine ,, it only wants to control our thoughts and redirect /format
What you probably post or start topic may not be deemed relevant or safe for a class of students .. It’s same like the teacher sending a talking in the class room out in the hallway during a test
There is likely a built in program designed for us depending on how often we participate or speak out loud during a test .. irrelevancy if it does not equate as like in the many alien star trek robots .. threatening the enterprise and crew

I’ve always put it down to forgetting to hit the send button, all posted topics or comments are on the database, so if anything has gone awry then admin/mods should still have access to it and the ability to restore it..
It also doesn’t help when people post multiple threads with the same topic title, then the confusion settles in because I know I’ve replied but nothing from me is showing…then again, it might just be ghosts..hahaha..Billy..

Well I have had editing a message cause deletion on more than one occasion and yes I have used the back browse and reloaded a previous blank page. I think its most likely to be just some glitches in the system. What I have taken to doing is doing is to do a ‘select all’ and ‘copy’ and sometimes paste to a new note sheet a message from time to time just to make sure if it fails its in the memory bank clipboard and I don’t have to re type it. That has saved me several times to-date.

I posted a thread on my EP350 attempt, had one reply and then edited it. It then disappeared, so I posted it again.
( https://www.activemelody.com/forums/topic/ep350-spacey-alt-country-2/ ). Something in the edit process (who knows maybe a backspace happened and the post was gone).I would suggest that the mods (if they get the time) test creating messages, have a reply, edit and see what happens. Throwing a web page backspace might be another trigger.
P.S.: One thing that happened a couple of times is that when I hit submit, it saved it but stayed on the submit page! That might be an indication something is happening. (oops, I am editing this post!!!)

Yes, the post appeared as they have always done, then I click the “back arrow” on my browser – which I’ve been doing for years. Always in the past, my post sticks. So I’ll try it with this post and see if it disappears.

Nope, it did not disappear, so it’s OK to hit the back arrow. Now the question is, if I look at this topic again later in the day, will my posts still be here?

I think once a post shows it will not disappear later on – unless – like johnstrat mentioned – you attempt to edit it. This happened to me a few times starting with the very first post on this Forum. So apparently, the Forum “ghost” doesn’t like edits (sometimes) 😉
I let Brian know a few months ago about that and he tried to replicate it on his end but I don’t think he was able to. So that makes me believe there’s a programming glitch that appears and disappears just like a ghost…

I’ve read what you’ve all said but I very often quickly edit an entry I’ve just posted and I have not experienced a post disappear as a result but the back-button will almost ensure a blank screen for me, I mainly use a iPad.

The phenomenon I am familiar with is you click submit and it’s disappears. It is the forum Spam filter.
Moderators need to release it from the spam filter. The more you release the false spam the more the forum learns to not flag it.
I cleaned out the spam filter last week.
