Does anyone have a handy tip to get the right hand in position to play fill licks between playing rhythm? Oftentimes, I find my right hand out of position when I switch to fill licks and I hit the wrong strings. Working on lesson EP347 really highlights this flaw in my technique.
I’ve played some banjo in the past and keeping the pinky and ring finger planted at all times made it easy to keep the right hand in position. Keeping that right hand in position was rule # 1 for banjo. That cannot apply to guitar when playing rhythm with fill licks.
Has anyone come across any tips to get the right hand in position to play fill licks between rhythm strumming? I’m guessing there is some type of sensory feedback that would help the right hand know where it is. To this point, I’ve assumed I just need to practice more, but this morning I thought I might ask in case there is a shortcut someone knows.
