Looped the 4 chords and playing a little lead over it. I will admit that I struggled with this, the creative juices just were not flowing, more like barely oozing. Oh well, thanks for listening.

We all get like that sometimes I thought it was pretty good overall
The lead felt in keeping with the Rhythm style giving you a cohesive piece so thumbs up for that
Bravo and thanks for sharing

I thought that was pretty darn good! Nice melody, cool harmony bits and played the changes well. 🙂

That had a Spanish touch in my ears, David. Apart from the fact that your playing ended rather abruptly, there was nothing wrong with this submission- I could have listened a lot longer! Well done! 👍🏽

Nice one, David, well played. I think you did exactly what we were challenged to do, and did it well.

Hi David, yep, sometimes the muse just won’t speak to us. I usually go to different chords, but for this challenge we’re stuck. Overall it wasn’t bad though… you found some chord tones and put together fine simple melody. Pleasing to the ear.

For me, this is proof that we often don’t even know how good what we’re doing is, David. What you have created here is a very nice unity of rhythm and lead playing. I really enjoyed it

Something creativity doesn’t meet our expectations but there is creativity there David, I’ve enjoyed it, well done!
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.

Your composition sounds very enjoyable to my ears, David! Just the right length of a Brian’s lesson usually, very well crafted and played!

Sounds good to me David. I liked the double stops at the end.

You’re too hard on yourself, David. That was a really sweet melody that fitted the chords perfectly, and was played with a lovely tone. Like Manfred, I would have liked to listen to a bit more.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly where you took it with those double stops around the minute mark. The laid back soulful sound was in total keeping with the rhythm and I’m glad you held back and just played what counted.

I sympathize with your “barely oozing” reference since that happens to me a lot! However, sometimes simple solutions are the best, David! This was a sweet Spanish sounding tune and I enjoyed it!

David
I struggled with this too. Your end result was very polished. Well constructed and performed nicely. A great listen.JH

Wow David, while it’s frustrating when you’re not feeling the creative juice, your rendition sounded great to me. Your loop set an excellent rhythmic foundation with a nice clean sound. And your lead part had a sophistication and style that was very enjoyable. Cheers, Tom

Don’t sell yourself short. You wove your melody carefully and effectively into a pretty nice tune despite the minor key which is, at best, awkward to handle.

Too hard on yourself, David, I thought the lead was very melodic and sounded very good.

I agree with everyone above. UT if you feel constrained, try playing with the timing or a different position on the neck. Another thing Iike to do is play the open g string with a metronome. 5 minutes of that gets all kind if creativity to come out.
