So originally I was going to do the Tony Joe White Rhythm but I also got doing 3/4 other lessons after learning them all I got fixated on 286 so much so that I was practicing it right up to today.
I regard myself as an extremely lucky individual and one of these little gems of luck came my way about 10 years ago when I was looking round for a 2nd hand amp, I’d got on the Matamp forum and had been to the factory to have a look at what I wanted when one of the forum members announced he was selling up his gear, I dived in and bought both his Practice amp (Little Rock) and his Main amp (First Lady). Absolutely marvelous pieces of kit (hand wired I’ll add pics one day when I clean them).
The point of mentioning this is I decided to record clean with just reverb on both amps (I practice clean a lot of the time anyway) and see how it went. I thought I know I’ll share it with you people, the thing with both these amps is the clarity you get can be Hi-Fi ish in that every scrape slide difference in finger pressure can be brutally noticed. This isn’t a bug its a feature of some valve gear especially with high headroom and fast dynamics.
Anyways Guitar used is my new Eric Johnson Strat thinline, the main piece is done on the middle pickup Amp + Spring Reverb on my main amp, the added bit at the end is me solo using a Reverb pedal on Plate + My little Rock Practice amp on the Neck Pickup.
Hope you enjoy it
