Hi,
I have a few questions on the minor scale.
1. How can you tell if a tune is in a minor key?
2, Which minor scale will a tune usually be in?
3. Could I start with the harmonized scale at the relative minor (VI) and work my way back to the V chord, i.e.:
i-minor, ii- minor 7b5, iii-Major, iv-minor, v-minor, vi-Major, V-dominant 7. And, if many of these chords were
in the tune would I conclude that it’s in a minor key based on whatever the key signature is.Please don’t get too complicated with your answer as I am not a musician. Just hoped there was a simple explanation.
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Jim K
