So I have this crazy idea of creating a “pay it forward” related international package chain.
My daughter recently got a packaged cookie from New Zealand from a friend of a friend and I thought man it would be so cool to get stuff from other countries or other areas of the US. If you want to take it up a notch, one could even send guitar related items. It wouldn’t have to be a big ticket item nor would it have to be new.
For example, I recently sent a member my old Apogee Jam I wasn’t using anymore.
My idea is to send (1) guitar related item that is desirable and (1) local item you can ONLY get in your Area to someone that is on a mailing list. If you receive a package you have to send a package to someone on the list in two weeks time. When you get a package you post a picture of what you got on the forum and confirm you sent the next package out.
Smaller item would be good to keep shipping cost down and we should ship with tracking so nothing gets lost in the mail.
A couple examples of packages I thought I could send from from Alaska:
1) T-shirt from local small business and a couple packages of guitar strings
2) A piece of used gear from my collection and Alaskan Ulu skinning knife.
3) Local made Chocolate or Coffee and guitar picks with local music store name/logo on it.
4) CD of local artist and a capo.I can manage the mailing list and assign people who receive packages the next person to send to.
These are my initial thoughts. Anyone interested in participating and/or have any further thoughts on this?
