Great Choice Bryce. Too funny, everyone has one particular lesson that drew them to the Active Melody website. This is mine! I saw this on Youtube almost a year ago and it lead me here. The ironic thing is I never learned it thoroughly, I was too overwhelmed by all the other great content. This will be my chance. Count me in!

Nice Suggestion Bryce. I like to do.

Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

For the advanced players there is a part 2 to this lesson, EP66 – just a thought- would be cool to play them back to back 🙂

Hi All I think Im in on this one. Having had a look I was wondering if any of you think the tab is adrift in the initial bars or is it me? I cant quite relate parts of it to what Brian seems to be ilustrating but I think I am playing along ok with the basic rhythm. John Strat

I’m in. I love that lesson, should have been playing it more. It works really well on my Taylor Baby acoustic guitar, so I may use that. BTW, it sounds rubbish on an electric, at least on my Fender Strat.
@JohnStrat, I’ve noticed that Brian’s tabs have gotten increasingly accurate over time, so there may be a note or two out of whack on this older lesson, but I wouldn’t worry about it. For me, I take Brian’s advice and just keep the beat going and make up some notes that fit. At the same time, I keep to the 12 bar blues formula, and make sure it doesn’t turn into the 13 bar blues or 11 bar blues….

Sunjamr thanks i have noticed that about the tab as well. I think ive got it sorted and i think its ok so will just get on as you suggest and try not to make it a 25 bar blues! Lets hope i can make a respectable job of it using my Stratocaster…best regards John Strat

Seeing as our practise session has been cancelled this week, my practise partner is working over in Romania and the job has been held up for a few days. So, this gives me a good op to use the time normally spent in the hall tonight for learning the basic mechanics of this one… fingers crossed that my attention span will hold out and I wont wander off in to the traffic…hahahahaha

Hi, guys! I joined as a premium member mid-January, and I haven’t looked back. This may be the challenge that gets me off the video sideline benches. I may even have to post two videos – the challenge video, and the out-take blooper reel!

Billy (@williammillar31hotmail-com):
Challenges are completely optional. We would love to have you participate but if you have a different lesson you want to learn that is cool too. The important part is your playing is progressing and you are having fun.

Thanks for that Bryce. I will do my damnedest to find the concentration for next months challenge. I am finding it difficult right now to concentrate on two and I really do want to learn the Gypsy Waltz, I think that this is my kind of music…
