I’m sure Brian set this challenge as a platform for us to showcase our talents as songsmiths using all the skills he’s schooled us in at AM. The trouble is, a thought wormed its way into my head….. “What would Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi have done?????”. From that point on, taking this too seriously was never going to happen. It always going to involve too many Teles and go completely over the top!
Those of you seeking elegance, subtlety and sophistication might want to look away now 😂🎸The background fireworks are from November the 5th, Guy Fawkes night, where we traditionally blow stuff up to celebrate somebody failing to blow stuff up.

Wow!
I love this. Great stuff. Clever, tight and blazing. Great slide work and of course your tone is impeccable. Thanks for sharing. There’s never too many Telecasters.John

Wow, what a brilliant rocking original rendition, Andy! Loved it, something really different, original, fun and enjoyable to listen to! Great work with the slide and an overall amazing unexpected arrangement: beautiful!

I suspected somebody would be capable of this kind of musical mayhem and you did not disappoint! I loved it. It called for something over the top and you delivered. You blew it up … but in a good way.

Haha you show off your Teles! A real Tele feast! My first thought when I heard your version was that it sounded like the Stones are meeting Sonny Landreth 😁😇. (Although Status Quo is a great band, too and they actually can play more than 3 chords😆😛).
I love the driving rhythm 👍and the idea to play the melody with slide. Great melody improv. That was a super cool Saints rendition!!! You manage to amaze me each time with your creative ideas.
Super tones on all your Teles. I like the video, especially the intro.Btw that’s a nice looking pick guard on your blonde. I am going to replace the white pickguard on my Tele Performer by a dark brown Tortoise shell.

Crikey that blew some cobwebs away – what a blast. Terrific version – my only disappointment is that your amps only went up to 10, not 11. Great idea to have the fireworks on, but I think you outplayed them.

Andy, loved the rockin’ shuffle you created here. It reminded me of when famous band do holiday cover songs. It had that distinct flare of a a hard-rocking band with well known classic tune. Really fun!

Love the rocking vibe and high energy. Slide was a great choice for the lead too. Well done! 👍

Well arranged, and well played! That was not only entertaining, but also very interesting from several perspectives. First of all, I just bought my first guitar slide 2 weeks ago, and I’m finding it very hard to learn. I’m thinking of switching to a short pinky slide. Second of all, it’s nice to see some fireworks for Guy Fawkes Day. I can look out my window and see the sky over most of Auckland, and I was shocked at the lack of fireworks going off this year. I suspect it’s because hordes of younger Kiwis (the main fireworks enthusiasts) have bailed out and moved over to Oz in search of job opportunities. Nevermind, I’m guessing New Zealand might soon see a huge influx of American immigrants. Apparently our immigration dept has been receiving lots of inquiries.

You let the saints go sliding in, Andy. Great rocky version. I had fun listening to this from the first to the last second.
But I have to admit, I‘m also a little sad now, because I only have one Tele.Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup will be in spring 2025There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum a few weeks before.
I look forward to meet you.

Great version, and when the sound is good everything is good. It’s catchy, it’s got rhythm, and the slide is masterful, bravo.

Love it ! A totally different spin on it full of drive and dynamics.
A nice trio of telecasters the layers work well together, the p90 sounds so full and rounded perfect for the slide melody .
Great tone from the Blackstar . -

Yes I liked this a lot Andy. A bit complex for Status Quo though!

Wow, Andy – what a blast! An instant hit, the energy, the tele trio, and the wail of the slide made me imagine I was in the middle of a celebration or a concert. Your playing was outstanding but also, I loved how each track fit so well and clear in the mix – great production! I agree with John H, there’s never too many telecasters! Your slide skills are also outstanding, loved the heavy gritty tone. Awesome intro, crank it up!!!!!!

This is so inspiring Nick! what a groove in there!
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.

Such a cool rockin’ version of this song!! That is some impressive slide playing too! For some reason, I found myself wanting a tele even more while watching this video! I found a guy that wants to trade for one of my strats so may get one soon!

Like Guy Fawkes night Andy, your performance went off with a bang. I loved the great energy from the start, it also must be so satisfying having your own band. Great post …….
