I just couldn’t help but stray away from the actual content of EP144 lesson, but I really did put a few of Brian’s licks in this one. OK, I just might be joking again. 🙂
I created my own backing track using a drum backing track provided by a drummer on Riffworks and using Brian’s chord progression. The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Good job and very typical for you, Pete! I really expected something similar. But hey, do you play drums as well?
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Hi Craig, I corrected the error on the drums. The drum backing track was provided by a live drummer on Riffworks.

Hi Wilfried. No, I don’t play the drums, I corrected the error on the drums. The drum backing track was provided by a live drummer on Riffworks. One can buy the backing tracks of the live drummers.

Thanks Ivan. I really couldn’t nail the lesson with Brian’s backing track so I used a drummer’s backing track on Riffworks. The rhythm and lead is what I came up with.

Although we’re heading towards winter and things are getting colder and wetter weather wise here in the U.K. this made me feel like I was sitting under a tree in a leafy glade in the height of summer with s nice glass of Merlot to accompany my mellow mood. Thank you for this.

Good one, Pete – it would be fair to say that you are a non-conformist when it comes to music. I liked it, but I would have liked a little bit less reverb, since it was making my coffee cup vibrate.

Nice one Pete, STRAYING IS YOUR THING AND IT’S ALL GOOD!
John, you know I strayed away from home 2 weeks after my 18th birthday. Joined the Air Force, did my time and got out, moved to California and after some time, the wife said, “you’re moving to Japan” with me. Life sure has been an adventure for me.

Another great and totally unique transmission from Planet Pete. If only it were longer, I could listen to that all night…it should be a film score for David Lynch.

Non-conformist, hmm, I like that. LOL The reverb I really couldn’t tell how it was going to come out since it was a wave file that I had to render it into mp3 , but yes, I do agree, the reverb was a bit too much. Hope your coffee didn’t spill on your computer keyboard.

Hey Satellite, thanks for listening. I thought maybe you’d say “Samurai Pete”. Yes, it was a bit short. I really was rushing on time on this one. I wonder if I really go into a form of Transcendental Meditation when I pick up the guitar. I know I meditate some, at least I do some breathing exercises. When I’m out cycling, I also think its a form of meditation in an outdoor environment.
Again, thank you for listening and your comment, much appreciated.

A feel of space and the countryside with a bit of Pete twang
It’s a really nice piece

Hello Dave
Thanks for your comment. On the sound though, after getting it into mp3 format I realized that the reverb was too much, but I couldn’t tone it down at that point. Thanks for listening. The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete

Hey ともだち
Thanks for the new word “zazen”. Been out cycling this summer and that itself to me is a form of zazen. Original, like “wow” ! Many thanks Hide. Let me know when your visiting Japan. Found another Morris guitar yesterday at the pawnshop, didn’t buy it. Was 6900 yen. Needed too much work on it though. Was going to offer 3000 yen though, but didn’t. It was a Morris W-25. It’s a great fingerpicking style guitar.
Travel light next time your here, that Morris I have is still yours, that is if Yoko doesn’t throw all my gear in the trash, and you know she will. LOLThe melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
