I kind of forgot it was challenge weekend, so this one is hot off the presses!
I used backing track from EP 570. My plan was to use the D shape; this lesson is based in the E shape so I was able to go off of the written melody and do my own thing.

Not easy to pay a country song in the same box but you nailed it.
Well done.AndréM

Glad you made it, Alan! This challenge month was indeed a bit shorter this time…
I like what you did here: play in a different shape than the original, and that sort of invites you to come up with your own ideas, I should have thought of that. I like your focus in your playing too, it always sounds so clean and smooth, even when it’s hot off the presses!🎸JoLa

I like these slides and how you mixed minor and major.
Great job on the D shape.

Alan
This is top shelf… that can’t be easy, however, you found every possible interval that could possibly work. You made this a bit honky tonk yet very melodic. In you are on a good path here my friend. This could be a lesson…. Very well done.John

Glad you made it Alan, I also decided at the last moment to partecipate! For sure playing in a different box than the original helped you to craft your own music phrases in a original and melodic way. Very well done!

Great country licks Alan. I like how you used the lower register strings to break up the lead and give it a different tonal quality for a bit. Good one!

That’s a great little tune you improvised on the fly, Alan. Stayed in the position throughout and made it musical. 🎶

Well crafted lead making every note count ,the limitation brings out the creativity
the little break on the lower register changed things up nicely, very impressive for a short study.Martin

That was superb Alan…especially considering it’s hot off the presses!

Nice Alan! You follow the chords well and gave us a melodic rendition of classic country music.

Really nice done Alan! And nice tone too!
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.
It's all about taking risks, sometimes you get to some place, sometimes you get to a different place. (Brian May) -

Great facility in that area, Alan. You seemed to follow the chord changes easily.
That’s a nice looking Squire, also.

That was a very fine take whether it was hot of the presses or not. You came up with a catchy theme and reworked it well throughout. I liked how you explored the entire position too, including the lower two strings for that muted little sequence of phrases.

Amazing what you did with those notes on that real estate. It had my attention the whole time.

Great melodic lines and I really like how you use the arpeggiated 6-th intervals. The switch to the minor pentatonic scale in some phrases really blues-it up. Great submission!
