Yes, yesterday was New String Day for 3 guitars here. I know there was just a post on strings but just wanted to give some feedback on one set. On my acoustic Epiphone Masterbuit I went from Cleartone 12’s to D’Addario 13-56 flat tops. (EFT 17). The Cleartones were on for a long time because they sounded great. Ok, they were expensive and I’m cheap. But they really had the best tone. So why switch? They also were coarse and noisy sliding around the neck. So I went to a set of not exactly flat wound but very close. Just finished today’s micro lesson with them and I’m impressed. May have lost a little volume and tone but not much at all. They play incredibly smooth! You kinda want to just keep playing and noodling. Yep, they are new so the jury is out on how they hold up but so far so good!
