Thanks Bruce
Yep it’s a ’98 DeArmond Starfire by Guild. From what I understand, Fender purchased Guild in the mid ’90s and reissued of some Guild electric guitars under the Dearmond brand name (manufactured in Korea).

Stunning JFL. A highlight for me re: submissions this month. You’re in full command and making it look easy. Loved the chordal approach with the slides and right hand strumming added to the different elements to your composition. Sound from your guitar spot on also. Applause!!! All the best!

Hi JFL
Brillant. You really make more a melody than a set of licks here.
Your use of scales and chord shapes is really mastering.
I would like to be able to create and play something like this as effortless as you look.the best submission I’ve heard this month by far, really

Always interested to hear what you come up with JFL as it invariably has a different take on the challenge and you’ve done that again here. I think I need to study closely just what you did here but the combination of the chord voicings, outlining of the chords and solo lines couldn’t have been better arranged. Particularly liked that run from 20secs leading up to the turnaround. Superb!

November 30, 2020 at 12:02 am #223473
JFL,
That was fantastic. Your use of chord shapes interlaced with single-note runs was perfect. As many have said, your playing is effortless and a dreamy comfort to the ears.

Wow, JFL, that was extraordinary. So tasteful, I could listen to that over and over. I hear a blend of jazz and blues. Playing without a pick really added depth. I’m tempted to give that technique a try. Nice work.
