What are blues licks if they aren’t improvised? This was sweet. The phrasing was particularly good. You gave the licks enough space in between that you could take your hand off the neck. That’s cool.

Oh yes really like that Mike, particularly the moment around 40s where you just hold the note and let everyone catch their breath, great timing!

That was awesomeness, Mike!
Totally loved it all, the 0:40 Knopfler-like hammer on/pull-offs were a cool moment, it made me smile. Fantastic playing, man.🎸JoLa

Your playing is really in the zone. Creative pauses of holding the note and pull on/offs adding interest. Excellent.

Both lick choice and playing are really enjoyable Mike, well done!
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.

You let the licks roll out from your fingers, Mike and let yourself drift with this great backing track. I enjoyed it to listen to you!

Good one, Mike. I’m a huge John Mayer fan also. He has some nice tutorials on Youtube demonstrating how he arrives at his licks.

Great improvisational playing, Mike!! This looked totally spontaneous to me. Looks like all was in the five minor pentatonic patterns to me. Excellent vibes and phrasing. Loved the backing track. I may try playing along with this to see how it’s done. Thanks for posting.

Improvising over a John Mayer track is always an excellent choice! A brilliant melodic rendition, full of interesting bluesy licks, really enjoyable to listen to! And an excellent clear crystalline tone from your Strat, also with the help of a flawless picking by your right hand! Great submission!
