Hi Everyone,
I am not new to guitar, I am a multi time returning frustrated guitar player giving it one last shot. My goal is to be able to play what I want (within reason) and improvise a decent slow hand type blues song and have some idea of what the heck I am doing (what key I am in what notes to play that go with the key and so on). I can play songs with chords, I know how to finger pick songs that have learned through tab or playing with other people. I can read and understand music as well as timing.
I don’t know the notes on the board (other than the 1st and 6th string of course), I rarely play above the lower end unless it is a song I learned, I don’t know any scales, shapes or any of the technical stuff. I recently started just working on songs from Brian that I like but I am going down that same dead end again of not actually learning anything other than a song.
I really am not sure where to start. I would appreciate any suggestions. I KNOW I can learn from Brian, I love his teaching style.
